Skittles are my favorite.

I haven't been interested in any other events or holiday stuff, so all of my manis have just been regular ol' manis, usually skittles. Here's a quick catch up from any pictures I took.

Here is a fun red/yellow/orange glitter skittles. The neat orange and yellow polish is "Bang" by Salon Perfect. It's a super cool, awesome, unique polish that has tiny orange and yellow spherical glitters. It finishes a bit textured and I just love it. The red one is my gateway polish; "Fireworks" by Hard Candy. I love this combination of glitters. I think the only thing I sometimes don't like about it is the tinted base they are in. I really like to wear my glitters with undies and I usually don't like tinted bases over undies. I really like the yellow glitter too. (We'll be hard pressed to find a glitter I don't really like.) It's name isn't on the bottle, but I think it is "Pretty Duckling" by Broadway Nails. It's also in a tinted base, but that's ok cause it's a really densely populated glitter and doesn't ever really need undies.

This mani was a nightmare cause I put six or seven layers on all of my nails with all different colors and glitters. It was also a super poor application and really, not terribly interesting. I think one of my favorite points about skittles is being able to just play with all the polishes without worry. However that mindset also leads to meh manis. Which is perfectly fine.

 Moving on.

Here is a rainbow skittles! ^_^ My favorite skittles are rainbow skittles. I took a picture of all the bottles cause I was sending a preview to my friend (over at "Guilty Pleasure Colors") so I figure no reason to not share that picture here too. I put glitters on the nails that weren't part of the rainbow so I wouldn't have to find a bunch of extra colors to use. I really like the rainbow skittles like this, so I'll prolly keep using glitters on thumbs and pinkies in future rainbows. I think the most notable part of this rainbow is that awesome shapie glitter. I love it. (Don't know name)

Here is a pretty fun and appealing "skittles" (they aren't all different, but different enough). I was in a green and purple mood and I really wanted to use some of my nail art transfers. I also recently got my multichrome transferred into a bottle with a useable brush and wanted to use it as well. I swapped the greens on each hand and I used a different purple for both (I think cause I couldn't decide which I wanted to use). It's a different color pallet than I usually wear, but I feel like I only liked it more for that reason. Also, that multichrome.

I work at a daycare and am therefore always washing my hands. Over washing leads to all of my manis just completely disintegrating within three days. Even with a basecoat and seche vite over top, I just can't get them to last. Seche vite is expensive and I have reasons to limit my spending on extraneous things like polish, so I've stopped using it for every mani. My basecoat (Sinful Colors) gets really thick quickly and I don't have nail thinner, so I've stopped using that as well. All of this has only led to having more opportunity to paint my nails, and I'm pretty happy about that. If I do an intense mani that takes hours to complete, it is a bit discouraging for it to peel off so quickly. However, those feels don't really stop me from spending my time on big mani projects anyway.

Now for a couple manicures that aren't skittles. o_O

This purple is a franken I made from an old super dark red polish from Hot Topic. It's difficult to apply, but I think it looks pretty good with this iridescent glitter. The glitter belongs to my friend, so I don't know what it is. That pretty blue and green glitter on my pinky is "1derland" by Sally Hansen. It's adorable in name and life.

This is an elusive pink mani. First my friend gave me "Taffy" by Rainbow Polish cause she's awesome. It has silver and pink and white glitters and it has squares and hexes and it's a sparsely populated glitter. I like sparse glitters when I'm wanting to feel more refined. A while later I got "Pixie Pink" by Hard Candy and really wanted to try it out next to "First Love" by Pure Ice. First Love is a pearly pink shimmer sheer polish, so it's really hard to make look nice. I find adding a glitter on top breaks up the flaws of a pearly application nicely.
